Pro-Israel Group applauds Mike Waltz Over Iran UN Nuclear Role
New York — Americans For A Safe Israel, a leading pro-Israel organization, has come out strongly in support of the recent statements made by Ambassador Michael Waltz condemning U.N. member nations for electing the Islamic Republic of Iran as a vice president of a conference designed to review the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).
AFSI also praises Christopher Yeaw, U.S. assistant secretary for arms control and nonproliferation, who said this about Iran having a leadership role: “It is beyond shameful and an embarrassment to the credibility of this conference.”
“Israel, a democracy, is regularly singled out for criticism by every UN body while its totalitarian enemies are not just welcomed but regularly put in positions of authority,” stated AFSI’s Moshe Phillips. “We cannot thank Ambassador Waltz enough for speaking out against Iran’s inclusion. That the Ambassador’s comments were necessary to make in the first place shows just how far the UN has strayed from its mandate and purpose.”
Moshe Phillips is the National Chairman of Americans For A Safe Israel (www.AFSI.org), a leading pro-Israel advocacy and education organization.
