Simply – Began as a gum company established in 2014 by Caron Proschan. She began by making gum in her NYC apartment, without using any artificial colors or flavors. It later expanded to breath mints, fruit gummies. Like their name suggests, they keep it simple, using minimal ingredients.

Simply makes healthier breath mints, gummies, and gums with unconventional taste pairings. Their mints are more than your everyday breath mint; they are full-flavored and soothing. While their gums are just plain fun (with unusual and even seasonal flavors), the gummies are made only from fruit. Simply Gum is certified by the OU; the mints and gummies are certified by the Kof-K.

Simply Gums contain simple and understandable ingredients: rice flour, raw cane sugar, chicle (chewy tree sap), and vegetable glycerin. Ginger gum contains ginger, while the mint gums use mint oils.

Even its appearance is non-traditional. The gum looks like a small pellet. After the first taste, you will forget its unconventional looks. Each box contains paper to use to dispose the gum after you have finished chewing it.

Simply gum is full of taste, and it lasts for an extended chewing time, and comes in a wide variety of flavors, both sugared and sugar-free. While you can get traditional offerings like wintergreen, peppermint, spearmint, bubble gum, ginger, and cinnamon, we favored the unusual offerings. Our team enjoyed fennel, which freshens breath with a hint of sweetness, as well as coffee and maple.

Even more distinctive is Boost, which combines lemongrass, turmeric, and cayenne, and Cleanse, a tangy citrus with a hint of spice, including grapefruit, prickly pear, cayenne, and sea salt.  Look for seasonal flavors like pumpkin (which is made of pumpkin, nutmeg, and clove) and Candy Cane. (They are constantly changing their flavors.)

Simply Mints come in an old-fashioned tin box and come in traditional flavors, peppermint and cinnamon, as well as slightly more adventurous flavors, ginger and lemon. They are all made from natural ingredients, cane sugar, and calcium stearate, an anticaking agent to prevent the mints from sticking together, combined with flavor.

Peppermint uses peppermint oil, ginger uses ginger oil, cinnamon uses cinnamon oil, while Lemon (a newer flavor) uses malic acid, which gives them a sweet and sour taste.

Each mint has 3 calories per mint. Each tin contains 30 mints.

Simply Gummies are exactly what a sour, real fruit gummy should be.  They are made entirely from fruit, without corn syrup, gelatin, artificial flavors, or cane sugar. Gummies come in two varieties:

  • Cherries and Apples, which are made of apple puree concentrate, apple, black carrot, lemon juice concentrate, and cherry puree; and
  • Peaches and Raspberries, made of apple puree concentrate, cherry, lemon, and raspberry juice concentrates, and peach puree.

These bite-sized fruit gummies are delicious and satisfying with a good mouthfeel. A 10-piece serving contains 80 calories and 2 grams of fiber.  The team enjoyed them; this may be the easiest and sweetest way to snack on fruit.
