Simple Kitchen Tools – Reimagined
By Chef David
Visionaries can see beyond tried-and-true and find better ways to work. Their unique ability to reimagine form and function can make a positive impact in the kitchen. While many home chefs are comfortable innovating new recipes, we rarely look at the utensils and think about how they can be improved. Fortunately, there are innovative companies like Dreamfarm, which reimagine simple kitchen items, improving their functionality. Over the past year, we discovered a few of their clever innovations with differences that make them work better, and creative names that made us smile.

Supoon
Getting the Last Drop – Supoon
Trying to extract the remaining sauce from the bottom can be frustrating, especially when it involves a substance like peanut butter, which sticks to the sides. Mini Supoon is designed with a flat squeegee tip and flexible scraping sides, which make it possible to extract the last bits out of a jar or container. When you push down the top of the Supoon flattens, contouring to the surface to extract the remaining contents.

The Supoon was designed so that when you put it down, its head sits up, not touching the counter surface. The handle is weighted so it can be dipped into without tipping.
The supoon comes in two sizes, mini and regular, both made of premium-grade BPA-free nylon/silicon. It is heat-resistant up to 500°F and dishwasher safe.
Dimensions: Mini Height 1 inch, Length: 8 inches
Our Supoon has become a kitchen staple. Using it, we never have to let the last drop go to waste. We have come to appreciate the clever handle design, which serves as a built-in spoon rest.
EggPeeling – Eggler
The Eggler is a single tool that you can use to crack, peel, and slice hard-boiled eggs. While it’s more of a novelty item than a kitchen essential, it is a cleaver and well-designed item. The Eggler is compact, slim, and dishwasher safe. The bright yellow color is attractive and appropriate for an egg peeler.
How it Works: Give a hard tap to a hard-boiled egg for a clean break, then slip the metal peeling paddle into the crack under the shell. Glide it around the eggs to swiftly remove the shell. Remove the remaining shell. Then it’s time to slice the egg using the wire with an interlocking base plate to create clean and even slices.

Crack, Peel, and Slice – The Eggler
We liked the fully inclusive design, from cracking to slicing. Generally, we would not have used a tool to remove the eggshell or an egg slicer, opting to crack the egg the old-fashioned way. Eggler makes creating egg slices into an art.
The Eggler makes a good gift for people who enjoy eating hard-boiled eggs.
Freshly Juiced
The Fluicer was designed to make it easy to extract juice from limes, lemons, and oranges, and comes in three sizes (color coordinated to match the designated fruit; the larger orange size accommodates all three fruits). This tool is deceptively simple. Instead of relying on hand strength, their design uses a two-handed pivot, which lets the hinge and stronger arm muscles do all the work. It even strains the juice and funnels it directly into the glass.
How to Use: Cut the fruit in half and place it inside the press. There are circles on the flat side for proper placement, and dots along the top to hold the fruit in place. Grip the two handles and bring your hands together, closing the press, squashing the fruit, and extracting the juice. The built-in pit catcher strains the juice and funnels it directly into a bowl or glass.

Squeeze and Funnel
The Fluicer delivers fresh-squeezed citrus juice in minutes, with minimal mess or cleanup. Its two-handed design makes it easier for older people to use. It takes less effort than a traditional press and even folds flat, which saves storage space.
