Our Favorite Finds of 2025
The Jewish Voice And Opinion Staff
Habits are hard to change. It requires patience and persistence. Change means that you found a product that performs better than the one we are currently using. This is why it is always amazing that every year we discover products that become part of our routines. We find it hard to believe that we did not always use these products.
During 2025, we discovered callouts worthy of being dubbed our ‘favorites.’ One is a redesigned Shabbos light, the second is reimagined kitchen tools from DreamFarm, and the last is Birdie®, which is a visual reminder to open your windows for better air quality.

Shabbostick
Shabbostick is an LED-stick lamp standing firmly on a durable zinc-aluminum base, creating a modern-looking design. It is thinner, taller than classic Shabbos lamps and can be pointed toward the room or against the wall. Its thin LED bar produces a focused, bright light source. A twist of the thin metallic cover lets you control the amount of light by exposing or covering the LED. Shabbostick is 5.9 x 1 x 16.9 inches, weighing 1.4 pounds, and it is easy to disassemble for traveling (it even comes with a black travel bag and is dual voltage 110/220V 50/60Hz). Shabbostick is approved by the Star K as well as by dayanim from BMG in Lakewood, New Jersey (R Yaakov Efriam Forschimer and R Shmuel Meir Katz).
The Shabbostick provides a bright, practical, modern Shabbos lamp.
Shabbostick is available online and in select stores.

Birdie® looks like a bird sitting on a perch, was designed to develop healthier habits, reminding us of the importance of ventilating closed spaces. It relies on visuals as a universal language. When Birdie is off its perch, it’s time to open the window for a breath of fresh air. When air quality is poor, Birdie® will fall off its perch, a visual reminder to open your windows, which brings it back to life. Opening the window circulates the air and dissipates harmful particles. Ventilating for 5-10 minutes 2-3 times daily is recommended to maintain a healthy air quality.
It is simple to use. Just remove Birdie® from the box, charge the battery, and it is ready to install. You can attach it to the wall using the bracket and either screw or use 3M double-sided tape (both included). Place the Birdie® in the bracket, push down, and watch as Birdie® runs through a quick activation sequence (which indicates that it is working). Once it returns to its perch, it will monitor the CO2 in the air. Birdie® is small, 4 x 2 inches, weighing under half a pound (211 grams).
We found that Birdie® increased our awareness of our air quality and prompted us to open the windows whenever Birdie® fell off its perch. Behavior changes occur slowly, and having a visual reminder helps.

DreamFarm is an award-winning Australian design company launched in 2003 to create new and useful kitchen tools and gadgets. They are problem solvers who find better ways to work, describing themselves as “dreamers of dreams and the makers of things. Just a bunch of everyday dudes from Brisbane, Australia, that love what we do and believe in creating useful products that make sense, not junk.”
We are impressed by the sheer number of creative and practical kitchen tools reimagined by the DreamFarm design team. Their innovations introduce better ways to work in the kitchen, solving problems you never knew you had with a wide range of fun and creative kitchen items.

Scizza
Scizza combines a scissor pizza cutter with a unique spatula shoe that slides under your pizza. The scizza protects your non-stick pans and is heat-resistant to 400°F. While it is a novelty item, it is useful, an upgrade to the traditional pizza cutter.

Fluicer
Fluicer makes it easy to extract juice from limes, lemons, and oranges, and comes in three sizes and colors coordinated to match the designated fruit. Instead of relying on hand strength, their design uses a two-handed pivot, which lets the hinge and stronger arm muscles do all the work. Grip the two handles and bring your hands together, closing the press, squashing the fruit, and extracting the juice. The built-in pit catcher strains the juice and funnels it directly into a bowl or glass.

Nocutu is a mandolin reimagined
Nocutu is a reimagined mandoline with a flexible finger guard that runs on tracks, which lets you safely cut down to the last slice. Its razor-sharp Japanese stainless steel blade slices 1mm, 2mm, and 3mm thicknesses, and locks closed for safe storage. The design includes a non-slip foot that folds out to raise the Nocutu and lets slices stack underneath, or fold the foot in and lay the Nocutu over a bowl. The flexible finger guard snaps on and doubles as a blade cover for safe and compact storage. Our testers liked the finger guard. Be careful using a mandolin in the kitchen, and never use it without the finger guard.
We are excited to continue our search for products that will become game changers, improving the way we interact with the world.
