NEW YORK (June 11, 2026) – The campaign of Alina Bonsell announced today that it has successfully qualified the Independent “Block Mamdani” ballot line for the November 3 election, giving voters an additional way to support her candidacy for State Senate in Manhattan’s 28th District.

Bonsell, who is already the Republican nominee, will appear on the ballot under both the Republican and “Block Mamdani” Independent lines. Votes cast on either line will be combined toward her total vote count.

The campaign submitted more than 3,300 petition signatures from registered voters to qualify the independent line. Bonsell is the only Manhattan candidate this election cycle to successfully secure an anti-Mamdani independent ballot line.

Bonsell is running against State Senator Liz Krueger in Manhattan’s 28th District. “Many Jewish voters were disappointed by Senator Krueger’s endorsement of Mamdani and her absence from the Israel Day Parade,” said Bonsell. “I believe our community deserves representation that stands unequivocally with Israel as a safe homeland for the Jewish people and stands firmly against antisemitism. Over the coming months, I look forward to meeting with voters throughout the district and discussing the issues that matter most to them,” Bonsell said.

The campaign said the “Block Mamdani” designation reflects opposition to policies associated with Mayor Zohran Mamdani and a commitment to public safety, fiscal responsibility, and combating antisemitism.

“I want to thank all of our volunteers and supporters whose hard work made this achievement possible,” said Bonsell. “Securing this ballot line ensures that voters have another opportunity to support our campaign and our vision for safer neighborhoods, stronger communities, and accountable leadership.”
