Step into the Art – Submerge at Arte Museum
By Two Sues on the Aisle, Susie Rosenbluth and Sue Weston
Arte Museum is a fully accessible interactive submersion into art, located at 61 Chelsea Piers, New York, NY. Bring your curiosity and experience this full-scale installation of immersive art, which engages all senses, inviting patrons to interact with panoramic canvases.
During the roughly 90-minute experience, walk through a series of mirrored rooms, explore a fusion of nature and art.

What to Expect
Visitors are left to wander through the ‘gallery’ space at their own pace, experiencing art which is massive and made to look even larger with the use of mirrors on the floors and walls. It is like nothing we have experienced before.
The exhibition uses immersive media, offering a tapestry of sights and sounds, putting us in unexpected locations, like under a waterfall, beside a crashing wave, and along the beach at night. Walking among a scented garden of flowers engages multiple senses, creating an almost “dream-like” experience as the flowers transform into butterflies when we touch the walls, while the fragrance of flowers fills the air, and leaves are scattered across the ground. We discovered hidden treasures tucked into crevices in the mirrored walls, including digital flowers and a piano.

Waterfall, Flowers, and the Milky Way
We joined the flow of visitors passing from one room to the next, walking with phones poised to capture the vastness of the space, imagery, and sounds. Did it feel like we were in a waterfall? Well, not exactly. But it certainly looked and sounded like it, an illusion captured in pictures, including our reflection on the opposing wall. The mirrored surfaces created a space that seems to go on forever. (We hesitated before taking the first step onto the mirrored floor.)
The installations are connected by a short black tunnel, providing a transition between each distinctive, captivating, and unexpected work. We wandered onto a beach under the night sky, with projections of whales and sea creatures passing overhead, and waves lapped at our feet. There was a tornado, with a twirling cone emanating from the ceiling. The exhibit, Sun, offered a photo-op sitting upon the lit stage, which shared a room with Live Sketchbook, a Forest that came alive as animals materialized, featuring a glowing bunny.
Our favorite display was the Milky Way, a mirrored room that featured hanging paper stars and appeared to extend to infinity. We enjoyed watching the colorful displays on the walls, especially those behind the Live Sketchbook space, and walking through the swirling tornado. It was refreshing to experience to wander, take pictures, and touch everything.

The Final Room
The final room presented a more traditional form of digital art from Musee d’Orsay, projected on the walls, followed by a series of projections of the sights of New York City, created by different artists. The works of many of the world’s leading digital artists are projected on the walls and floors of an expansive space, creating immersive worlds, many of which encapsulate the wonders of New York City, including the Statue of Liberty, the Brooklyn Bridge, bright lights, bold colors, and, of course, fireworks.
We believe this capstone installation would have benefited from some structure, information, preparing us for each work, and giving us an idea of the duration and theme (in addition to more seating).
This museum-like venue features large-scale, immersive, and interactive art exhibitions. Produced by world-class Korean digital design and art company d’strict, these exhibitions redefine art by combining creativity with science and technology to generate immersive experiences. The immersive exhibition themed around ‘Eternal Nature’, which has been experienced by almost 10 million visitors from all over the globe, opened on September 1, 2025, at Chelsea Piers.
